Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00709Brulee (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

In just a short amount of time with good food, medicated baths and TLC Brl̩e has already started to make a transformation from the heart wrenching pics we saw when we first rescued him. He's gained 10+ pounds and his skin and coat already look better. He is surprisingly heartworm negative but he has erlichia (tick borne disease), every intestinal parasite known to man and sarcoptic mange! He loves getting the baths and eating and getting lots of loving from the medical staff. He has a smile now and can see some life back in him!

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Brioche has sarcoptic mange but it's not stopping him from being a goofy, silly boy. He was a little 'ham' on his transport last night as he honked the horn twice at one transporter for not getting gas fast enough!! Hehe!!! He is underweight and surprisingly heartworm negative!

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Summer is a 5-6 month, super sweet girl who was surrendered earlier this week to a specialist clinic as they couldn't afford to do jaw surgery after a little rough playing with an older furry sibling. She is now on 3+ weeks of doggie bedrest as her jaw heals.

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Scarlett is a young (2yrs old) husky mix that had been at the Victoria Animal Shelter for 2 weeks. During that time she was gaining weight and her nipples were changing so they thought she was pregnant and wanted to get her into rescue. With help from our friends with Texas Husky Rescue we were able to take her into rescue yesterday, 8/12. She was transported today and went to the vet this afternoon. She is not pregnant!! She got her vaccinations, weighs 46lbs and we now have a spay appointment scheduled for September 2. She is sweet and gets along with dogs same size or bigger but NO SMALL DOGS or CATS - high prey drive!!

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-21-00520Sarai (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sarai (Hebrew for princess) had been out near a toll plaza for a couple of weeks in mid July and after many attempts she was finally caught and we took her into rescue. It hasn't been an easy road trying to get her vetted and spayed as she's not fond of strangers or vets but we finally had success today! Sadly she is HW+ so she will need treatment for that. We are also looking into a special trainer and/or behavioralist consult to help us work thru her issues with meeting new humans. With her foster family she is very sweet and a smart girl. She is going into the crate better, knows to go to back door to potty and is curious about kitties ... (Read More)but so far so good there. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-21-00515Kristoff (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kristoff is one of Monroe's princes born 3/3/2016. At 4.5 months old he is a big boy weighing in at 40lbs!!! Remember his mom is very big for a female husky at 60-65lbs!! His neuter is scheduled for Aug 14th. Kristoff is a very large boy, he will need someone with husky experience. While he is not overly affectionate, he is very playful. He loves to go to the dog park as well as go for walks. When he plays, he plays rough. His size is a factor as well, since he is so much larger than most his age. Kristoff is house trained with a doggy door, and he is crate trained. He likes to be where the humans are, so recommend crating in the bedroom. ... (Read More)He goes in no problem at night with a treat, if he needs to use the potty he will whimper and let you know. He will go right back in after a drink and potty break, he can potty on command. He loves his breakfast and dinner and he will let you know while you are making it. He is not a cuddler at all, he is getting a little more affectionate, but he is very independent. He loves water, doesn't mind a bath. He can be growly if making him do something he doesn't want to do, and he has been nippy, which is being worked on. He has not been destructive at all, he plays with his toys and chewies. He doesn't really get on the furniture or anything either. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-30-00007Cannoli (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update 6/23: Cannoli has fully recovered from her mange and has gained enough weight to be spayed in two weeks. Then she will leave Camp Husky for a foster home in Austin. Update 5/25: Cannoli is so shy for about 2 minutes and then she wants in your lap and gives lots of kisses. She's an absolutely adorable little sweetheart! Cannoli just had her second negative skin scrape so all she needs is one more and her spay and she will be ready to leave Camp Husky - est mid to late June. ********* Sweet little Cannoli was picked up as a stray at the Jacinto City shelter outside of Houston. She was 4 - 6 months old and has a bad case of demodex ... (Read More)mange. Poor girl!! Brenda and Judy, volunteers at the shelter were kind enough to take her to the vet to get started on treatment and a shot to help her eat as she was lethargic too. We took her into rescue 4/20 and she is now in the best hands with our medical foster at Camp Husky! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-29-00822Stormie (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Stormie is a super sweet, laid back senior (11yrs old) who found herself in doggie jail (HCPHES) about a month ago getting lost in the storms. Her owners didn't reclaim her (UGH!) so she was adopted despite being HW+! YAY! Unfortunately tho, it wasn't the right pack for her as the younger, more playful resident dogs didn't like her much and it was a bit chaotic with a young child too. We took her into rescue despite her age and high heartworm positive status! She is in a foster home with 2 other fur-kids, one of which is really showing her the ropes. She also isn't phased by the cats!! Yay!! She does seem to have some crate and separation ... (Read More)anxiety. :-( She is currently recovering from a UTI and is anemic. Once that's all cleared we will start the soft kill treatment. Thankfully she was already spayed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-17-00560Dakota (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dakota, approx. 3 years old, playful, happy, lovable, affectionate boy looking for new family who will give him lots of one-on-one time. He is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He gets along with his 4 female foster siblings but the maile sibling has a vendetta for some reason which is the only reason he's being rehomed. as he deserves to be fully included in a family and live peacefully. He is missing his front top and bottom teeth (don't know why) so he's on a soft food and can be a picky eater and obviously not a fan of dry kibble. He was already treated for heartworms and got the all clear earlier this year! YAY!! Email ... (Read More)adoption@texassleddogrescue.org for more info. He is being fostered in Liberty, TX. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-29-00431Malachi (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Malachi (my Angel in Hebrew) is a young (1.5 yrs old) gorgeous male who is sweet, laid back yet can be playful. He is an insecure dog who doesn't need or want to interact with dogs until he has a chance to get to know them a little better. He is NOT dominant, but is insecure and fearful. Therefore he needs a patient owner who will learn how to read him and his signals to prevent any kind of adverse reaction (2+ months). He needs slow, controlled introductions to other dogs especially in new environments. This is not just basic obedience training that's needed as he's pretty good with commands, loose leash walking, etc. It's a behavior ... (Read More)issue in how he handles new situations and new dogs. He would be best as an only dog but he can co-exist with other dogs IF the new owner is patient and willing to work with him to establish the rules and limits which can take a couple of months or longer as well as behavioral training. He needs and wants to trust his humans. He is NOT a dog park or event dog...right now but he has potential to be in the distant future. (Less)
