Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This poor girl was found in Morgan, TX near Lake Whitney and no owners came forward after about 2 weeks. After we transported her she delivered 6 healthy puppies (4 boys, 2 girls) on 10/19/2016*. She is sweet and rides well in the vehicle. She loves human attention, pretty laid back, house and crate trained.

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-29-00433Souffle (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This poor girl was brought into the shelter 10/26/16! She was diagnosed with sarcoptic mange (contagious), HW+, hook, whip, round and tape worms and emaciated! We later found out she has a busted pelvis yet it doesn't slow her down and she is not in any pain. Once she gains some weight then she will start heartworm treatment and then have surgery on her pelvis.

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-29-00431Romeo (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Romeo is done with his heartworm treatment and ready for his Fur-ever home!! This boy is very sweet and loves to play! He has high energy according to his foster mom and gets the zoomies several times a day especially now that it is cooler! He loves the dog park and he loves water!!! He will sit when commanded and still learning more manners everyday. He pulls a little bit on walks but for the most part walks well with his foster pack. He has some dominant traits in him and would like to be the boss, but his brothers are older and larger so he is stuck at the bottom of the totem pole! When he first came home, he showed some food aggression ... (Read More)and he is still working on that, and he is weary of people approaching him at night, nothing a little dedicated training can't fix. He will still try to mark occasionally but usually pretty good. He is close with a younger husky sibling and has bonded well so he would do best in a home with other dogs, preferably submissive! He loves to chase squirrels so cats are probably out for him, although he has not been formally tested (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-29-00423Leela (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Leela is a sweet 7yr old that was transferred from the Iola Sanctuary after being returned. The sanctuary is closing and we were asked if we could help. Fortunately Cato's family was looking to foster again and needed an older, more laid back girl. She's been a bit more playful than we were expecting but it's all good. She appears to be house trained and doing well with her foster brother.

Rescue Me ID: 16-12-29-00403Hadley (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hadley is not disabled. She is unique! When I first started fostering Hadley I was worried as to how she would keep up with my dogs, manage stairs and attend Doggie daycare. This little girl really surprised me. She 'runs' up and down stairs. Has no problems jumping on my bed or couch lol! And she 'leads' my pack on walks! She can walk for 30 mins at a fairly fast pace and is the first to spot (and try to chase) squirrels. At Doggie Daycare she is a favorite as she loves to play with all dogs and also loves interacting with the human staff! Note: she has a very high prey drive. No small animals (cats, very small dogs, guinea pigs etc'|) ... (Read More)Hadley is very smart and inquisitive. She is also very sweet and loving. She is a little alpha. She bosses around her 80lb Chow brother Max and 60lb Malamute sister Noshy. No food or toy resource guarding issues. Apples - Hadley loves Gala apples - Yummy! It would be best for her to have a sibling to play with and/or have her attend daycare. Her energy level is insane! What 'bum' leg? This little girl definitely has Husky Spirit - Go Hadley! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00706Brioche (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Brioche has sarcoptic mange but it's not stopping him from being a goofy, silly boy. He was a little 'ham' on his transport last night as he honked the horn twice at one transporter for not getting gas fast enough!! Hehe!!! He is underweight and surprisingly heartworm negative!

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Scarlett is a young (2yrs old) husky mix that had been at the Victoria Animal Shelter for 2 weeks. During that time she was gaining weight and her nipples were changing so they thought she was pregnant and wanted to get her into rescue. With help from our friends with Texas Husky Rescue we were able to take her into rescue yesterday, 8/12. She was transported today and went to the vet this afternoon. She is not pregnant!! She got her vaccinations, weighs 46lbs and we now have a spay appointment scheduled for September 2. She is sweet and gets along with dogs same size or bigger but NO SMALL DOGS or CATS - high prey drive!!

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-21-00520Sarai (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sarai (Hebrew for princess) had been out near a toll plaza for a couple of weeks in mid July and after many attempts she was finally caught and we took her into rescue. It hasn't been an easy road trying to get her vetted and spayed as she's not fond of strangers or vets but we finally had success today! Sadly she is HW+ so she will need treatment for that. We are also looking into a special trainer and/or behavioralist consult to help us work thru her issues with meeting new humans. With her foster family she is very sweet and a smart girl. She is going into the crate better, knows to go to back door to potty and is curious about kitties ... (Read More)but so far so good there. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-29-00822Stormie (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Stormie is a super sweet, laid back senior (11yrs old) who found herself in doggie jail (HCPHES) about a month ago getting lost in the storms. Her owners didn't reclaim her (UGH!) so she was adopted despite being HW+! YAY! Unfortunately tho, it wasn't the right pack for her as the younger, more playful resident dogs didn't like her much and it was a bit chaotic with a young child too. We took her into rescue despite her age and high heartworm positive status! She is in a foster home with 2 other fur-kids, one of which is really showing her the ropes. She also isn't phased by the cats!! Yay!! She does seem to have some crate and separation ... (Read More)anxiety. :-( She is currently recovering from a UTI and is anemic. Once that's all cleared we will start the soft kill treatment. Thankfully she was already spayed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-30-00687Monroe (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Monroe is a sweetie, very engaging and a 'leaner', accepting petting and sweet-talk while on-leash. She did well with her temporary foster brother (husky) as well as her new foster pack (3 huskies). While she was about to get spayed, we got a surprise that she is pregnant and expecting puppies. She is also heartworm positive which will be treated after she weans her puppies in a month or two. She didn't have a reaction to the cats in the cat room at the shelter so she could be cat friendly. She will be available after heartworm treatment.

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sadie, husky/white shepard mix was scared in the shelter and probably very worried about her puppies (about 4 weeks old). Despite our latest rescue having a litter, a foster offered to take Sadie and her kids in so we were able to rescue her! She is starting to relax and her puppies are doing well.

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Meet Tonka! TSDRs Tonka is being returned to rescue after a year of being adopted because there's been a change in jobs and no one is home to let him out frequently so he's having accidents in the house. He is about 5 years old, malamute/husky mix who is small dog and cat friendly. He has hip dysplasia that is managed with pain meds and supplements as needed. He is low activity, loves to be a lap dog and will woo when he hears a siren. Returned to rescue 2/26/2016; originally adopted 1/21/2015

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-29-00431Malachi (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Malachi (my Angel in Hebrew) is a young (1.5 yrs old) gorgeous male who is sweet, laid back yet can be playful. He is an insecure dog who doesn't need or want to interact with dogs until he has a chance to get to know them a little better. He is NOT dominant, but is insecure and fearful. Therefore he needs a patient owner who will learn how to read him and his signals to prevent any kind of adverse reaction (2+ months). He needs slow, controlled introductions to other dogs especially in new environments. This is not just basic obedience training that's needed as he's pretty good with commands, loose leash walking, etc. It's a behavior ... (Read More)issue in how he handles new situations and new dogs. He would be best as an only dog but he can co-exist with other dogs IF the new owner is patient and willing to work with him to establish the rules and limits which can take a couple of months or longer as well as behavioral training. He needs and wants to trust his humans. He is NOT a dog park or event dog...right now but he has potential to be in the distant future. (Less)

Alaskan Malamute    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Are wooo looking for a sweet, loveable, lap dog as your companion? If so, look no further!! My name is Titan and I'm a young (2 years old) Alaskan Malamute that would love to be your furry companion but would prefer not to have any doggie siblings! If I do have to have one, I will be picky on who I choose. Who said you can't pick your family? HA! I am a sweet boy who has been an easy boarder for my trainer/foster. I love to run around the play yard for a few moments and then go straight to my trainer much like a velcro type dog. I ride well in the car and love my food. Strangely tho, I'm not too interested in treats. I can be strong willed ... (Read More)especially when I don't want to do something but nothing that can't be overcome with an experienced malamute owner. I am currently in a board-n-train and would like a foster home or better yet, a fur-ever home! (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Alita has been thru a lot in her short life but is a husky diva who hasn't let any of it slow her down!! Her favorite things are food/treats, squeaky toys, playing with her foster siblings and puppy lattes!!! She has a lot of spunk, character and attitude!! HA! We don't know if she will always be incontinent or if it can be controlled by the meds like proin or possibly need to add an estrogen supplement, only time will tell. She may need an additional surgery or procedure to help resolve her incontinence issue! She is house trained altho occasionally has accidents. She is used to being in a crate but she does have accidents in there. She is ... (Read More)a sweet girl with lots of love to give to someone who isn't deterred by a little leaking. She does need a doggie playmate or else she will drive you crazy unless you're willing to play with her, exercise her and wear her out!! (Less)
